Gajusz Kęska

Gajusz Kęska is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków in the piano class of prof. Ph.D. Andrzej Pikul and the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam in the class of prof. Willem Brons. He is an assistant professor at the Department of Piano at the Academy of Music in Kraków, where, having received the degree of Doctor of Arts and then Doctor Habilitated, he teaches a piano class.
He is a laureate of national and international piano competitions, including: the EPTA National Piano Competition in Kraków, the International Competition for Young Pianists in Gaillard, France, the "Talent Week" in Tarnów, the T. Żmudziński Competition, the International Master Class in Tel-Hai, Israel, the "International Pacific Piano Competition" in Vancouver, the International Piano Competition "Ciutat de Mallorca". He has received honorary scholarships, including: from the Minister of Culture and Art, the Jűtting Stichting Foundation in Stendal, Maestro Hans Vonk, the "Schumann-Schimmel van Outeren" Foundation in the Netherlands, and the Creative Scholarship of the City of Kraków.
He regularly appears in prestigious concert halls in Europe, as well as in Argentina, Chile, China, Ecuador, Israel, Japan, Canada and Peru, including: Recanti Auditorium in Tel Aviv, Gateway Theater in Vancouver, Auditorio Forteza in Palma de Mallorca, Krakow Philharmonic, Teatro Oriente in Santiago de Chile, Rainbow Theater in Inverness (Scotland), Auditorium Ricardo Palma in Lima, Teatro Sucre in Quito, National Philharmonic in Minsk. He has performed in international festivals in Leipzig, in Prague, Graz (Austria), Słupsk, Amsterdam, Shanghai, Frutillar (Chile), Argentina.
His debut CD with Piano Sonatas by K. Szymanowski received a Fryderyk 2013 Nomination, an ICMA 2013 Nomination and the Award of the Spanish magazine "Scherzo".
In 2015, he organized the first edition of the International Piano Competition "Chopin at Wawel", of which he is the originator and director. He is also the Chairman of the jury of the International Piano Competition "Chopin Plus". Since the same year, he has been the co-organizer and creator of the idea of the Małopolska Academy of Talents, held annually in Łąck, where he is the artistic director of the master classes. In 2016, the offer of the MAT was expanded to include the accompanying Festival, as part of which over 40 concerts were held in the region.
His students and pupils have won numerous awards at national and international competitions.He was honored many times for his pedagogical achievements.
He conducts master classes in Poland and abroad.
